3 wk. old Cayuga duckling, “Azula,” and my Old English Sheepdog, “Jasper” hanging out. Cayugas are a threatened species of domestic duck. This is my first duck. This is either a preening behavior, or more likely a foraging for insect behavior (and she might get lucky with all the ticks we have here in Oregon). The duckling seems to be fearless of my 100 lb. dog. Jasper is very sweet natured though. The coffee table worked well for them, on the floor, Jasper tends to over shadow him a bit too much. Stay tuned for baby chicken videos. We added a whole new branch to the family. 2 Frizzle chickens, a Cayuga duck & 1 Silkie chicken. Rooster/hens as yet to be discovered.

The idea started off as a good one: To establish new trad climbs on the amazing 1,200-foot granite big-wall rocketing directly out of the ocean in Devil’s Bay, Newfoundland. But for climbers Hazel Findlay, Alex Honnold, James Pearson and Mark Synnott, the great idea soon became something much different then planned.<br><br />
Though Newfoundland is relatively close to Mark Synnott’s home in upstate New Hampshire, in reality, it would be easier to reach some Himalayan basecamps than get to Devil’s Bay. Five days of travel by car and boat into this land forgotten by modern time, the team finally arrived only to discover adverse conditions and suffering.<br><br />
